About us
Stitch-Up is a community craft school specialising in textiles and focused on the power of craft to bring people together and help improve mental health and wellbeing.
Stitch-Up began in 2015 as a not-for-profit social enterprise with one simple belief: everyone should have the chance to enjoy the benefits of craft and creativity.
With roots in community work, a passion for textiles and lived experience of the positive benefits of craft and creativity on wellbeing, we use craft as a tool to connect and welcome people and to help improve everyday wellbeing, confidence and empowerment.
Our mission is to make learning and creating accessible to all, while bringing people together through the joy of making.
What started as small knitting groups in Leeds cafés, Stitch-Up has evolved and grown over the years into a thriving community organisation and collective of passionate craftspeople who share the same vision of making creativity accessable to all and using our skills for good.
Over ten years on, we've worked all over Leeds and supported thousands of people, before finding our home in Meanwood, but the threads that run through everything we do remains the same; Craft, Community, Connection and Wellbeing.
